Queens District Attorney Richard A. Brown -- joined by Police Commissioner Raymond W. Kelly, Queens Detectives Commander Deputy Chief Joellen F. Kunkel and Chief of Detectives William Allee - announce at Police Headquarters that two brothers have been charged with murder and conspiracy in connection with a young law student's disappearance and alleged death. The victim, Samiya Haqiqi, was 24 years of age at the time of her mid-November 1999 disappearance. The brothers were taken into custody today, August 2, in Freemont, California. (8/2/02) |
