Queens District Attorney Richard A. Brown thanks Governor George E. Pataki for setting up the Fraudulent Identification Task Force in February. A 120 day investigation by the Task Force which targeted the illegal manufacture, sale and distribution of forged or fraudulently obtained passports, licenses and other identification documents resulted in the arrest of 225 phony identification traffickers. Most of those arrested were from Queens. Standing behind District Attorney Brown is the Governor's criminal justice director, Chauncey Parker. (7/11/02) |
