Queens District Attorney Richard A. Brown joined Mayor Michael Bloomberg in announcing Operation Spotlight, a comprehensive multi-agency criminal justice initiative which will identify chronic misdemeanor offenders -- a relatively small group of offenders who commit a large portion of the low level crime -- and ensure that they are appropriately punished for their infractions, violations and low-level crimes or referred into treatment for their substance abuse. With Mayor Bloomberg and District Attorney Brown is the Bronx District Attorney Robert Johnson. (5/21/2002) |
