Queens District Attorney Richard A. Brown -- joined by NYPD Chief of the Organized Crime Control Bureau William Morange (left) and the District Attorney's Narcotics Investigation Bureau Chief, Assistant District Attorney Wilbert LeMelle (right) -- announced that a movie and television actor who portrayed a uniformed NYPD officer in "Shaft" and appeared in episodes of "Third Watch" and "Law and Order" -- together with four additional defendants were charged in operating a $1 million-a-year drug ring. On display during the announcement were 200 pounds of marijuana, 10 kilograms of cocaine, 7 balloons filled with heroin, 600 Ecstasy pills, assorted drug paraphanalia, an NYPD uniform and utility belt, numerous automatic weapons and a .20 gauge shotgun and over $500,000 in U.S. currency.
