Queens District Attorney Richard A. Brown is surrounded by young students from the Operation Summer Fun program at the closing picnic on Tuesday, August 22nd at Bayswater Park in Far Rockaway. Operation Summer Fun - a program initiated by the Queens District Attorney’s Office in conjunction with the NYPD - is a six week program for students from the 101 and 113 Precincts. Children 9 to 14 years of age explore the City accompanied by members of the District Attorney’s Office and other law enforcement personnel. The students are taken on trips to museums, the United Nations, the U.S. Coast Guard, the Bronx Zoo, the Intrepid and Statue of Liberty. (8/22/01) |
