Queens District Attorney Richard A. Brown presents a $2,000 check to 113 Precinct Community Council President Vivian McMillian for Operation Summer Fun as the 113 Precinct commander Inspector William Morris (right) and Police Officer Edward Damon (left) look on. The summer youth program, intended for Southeast Queens youngsters, was initiated by the Queens District Attorney’s Office in 1993 in conjunction with the NYPD. The program kicks off on Monday when members of the District Attorney’s Office and other law enforcement personnel will take some 200 youngsters on one of the many scheduled trips in the City. Operation Summer Fun gives young people the opportunity to share and exchange ideas with members of the community, the Police Department and the District Attorney’s Office in a relaxed atmosphere.
