Queens District Attorney Richard A. Brown announced today that Assistant District Attorney Patricia A. Malloy has been named the winner of the Queens District Attorney's Office's seventh annual Hal Miller Weinstein Memorial Award.

In a ceremony held today in the District Attorney's Office, District Attorney Brown presented the award which is given annually in honor of former Assistant District Attorney Hal Miller Weinstein who died tragically in a car accident in April, 1992.

Among those present were the late assistant district attorney's father, Jonathan Weinstein, Esq., his uncle, New York City Civil Court Judge Jeremy S. Weinstein and his grandfather Hon. Moses M. Weinstein, a former Justice of the Appellate Division. Also in attendance were members of the Class of 1997 and the Executive Staff of the District Attorney's Office.

District Attorney Brown said, "Each year this award is presented to the Assistant District Attorney in the first year class who most exemplifies Hal Weinstein's spirit, enthusiasm and dedication to public service. Hal Weinstein touched the lives of many of us here in this office. He was one of our most promising young assistants whose warmth and friendship was felt by all of us. Patty Malloy's professionalism and commitment truly exemplify the spirit of Hal Weinstein."
