The Legal Affairs Division is the District Attorney's Office's in-house law forum which handles a wide range of functions. The division includes the Appeals Bureau, which is responsible for prosecuting all state appellate and federal litigation for the District Attorney's Office and for serving as legal counsel to the Office; the Director of Trial Advocacy, who is charged with supervising and administering the myriad ongoing in-house seminars and educational programs in criminal law and trial training for assistants; and Capital Litigation, which is responsible for overseeing litigation efforts in capital prosecutions.
